Subwoofer Playing Quietly Problem

So would I need to get a larger amp then? Why would it work for the first week though then all the sudden cut out?

He's out to just ruffle feathers. A real 1k amp like a jl slash 1000/1 or sundown 1k or sound qubed 1200... Your boss amps prly does like 300watts real power.

But why would it work perfectly fine for a week then just cut out all the sudden randomly

You need to have it set up so it does clean power. If you have your settings wrong you prly burnt a tinsel lead or voice coil and it's sending your amp into protect... Your gain needs to match your HU rca voltage and clean volume before clipping. Your bassboost should be OFF/Zero.. Your lpf should be around 80-100hz. Sub sonic should be a few hz lower then your boxes tuning,idk you could have sealed box.

Its basically bottom of the barrel in terms of performance and reliability. Anytime you touch boss, crunch, power acoustik, autotek, planet audio, pyle, pyramid, cheaper lanzar, you are just wasting money on a doorstop for future reference.

your boss 1100 watts is literally 100 actual real world watts on its best day. The quality control for these companies are non existent. They are just out there preying on noobs with exaggerated power claims.

depends on budget and what subs you are using and what kind of box you are using.

This amp if you dont plan on ever going bigger with your system

This amp if you want to future proof yourself a bit. Look up on how to set gains with a digital multi-meter and your subs should be fine. Dont wing it with the settings or let your buddy touch your settings.

No, just plug and play. the 650.1 is closer to 8 gauge than 4

What about the 1000?

I plan on testing the subs with multimeter tommorrow if there still good then im gonna buy 650. If not I will buy 1000 with better subs in the summer time. Again out of curiosty do you reccomend any setup to go with 1000 watt? I have 2011 Mitsubshi lancer

How is your electrical system in your vehicle?? I ask because some cars have very basic electrical. And when adding aftermarket electronics, they can't handle the load that are put on, i.e. lights dimming is one very common problem. Doing the big 3 will solve this issue and if $$ allows it, a good well around all year battery and alt too.

I would get rid of that boss amp. Find something more brandedwise such as on CL or on here. People have deals everywhere and cash is always king.

single soundqubed hds 312 in a custom ported box. Around 200 dollars total after wood costs..

This is another member we helped awhile ago that had no clue on how to build a box and had very little tools. he just followed a design and had home depot make all the big cuts, took it home, glued and screw, cut the hole with a jigsaw and viola, all done. Here's the vid.



The box is what gets you loud and good sounding. All the premade kicker/JL or whatever box you can find on ebay or amazon is mostly too small and tuned too high with ineadequate port area to get you loud. Mostly garbage designs.

reduced power output and excess heat is if you overdrive the amp.
