Subwoofer Amp goes into protection when volume is high.

I recommend pulling the subs out of the enclosure to see if the they are fine or not ??Cone/coil areas,They may be fine at the reading on the DMM without any power, and then when you hit that certain excursion point,??This is where at times a DMM/electrical unit may not work for you, best way is to actually pull the sub out and look at it???IMO:banghead:

so many possibilities. Set your gain properly, make sure your ground is well secured to a bare metal surface, it sounds like the amps overheating on songs where its putting out alot of power for longer durations....are you using the bass boost or bass knob? are you cranking that up?....

I would say your problem is electrical related, if the amp is going into protect it is a problem with the amp not the subs being too hot. The subs being partially burnt out and messing with the ohm load could be an issue but I would make sure all amp connections are solid, for instance sanding down beneath ground, switching grounding points. etc...

Also what size wire and fuse are you using?
