Any subwoofer amp and box recomendations that sound awesome on the AcDc back in black album and other rock music? I want the rap to hit hard as well for the wife but it will mainly be for rock. Would like to stay somewhere around 2k watts so i dont have to mess with the alternator junk, im on stock 160 alt so ill buy a battery or 2. Any thoughts on the kicker quad box?

Please clarify your preferences for subwoofer and amplifier recommendations.

I think the Kicker quad box might be overkill lol. You are in an SUV I am assuming, yes? If so, a 1,500w rms amp on a pair of 12" subs would be more than enough for rock as well as venturing in to some hard hitting bass for rap and still have some room for groceries.

If you're married to the 4 12's idea I'd stick to lower power subs (300w) if on 2K. Enclosure and install will mean more than brands and wattage ratings tbh. You can cheap out with a Skar or CT offering or just install a pair of something legit like Sa Classics. Personally I'd rather run a pair of Sa classic 12's on 2K than multiple from other brands. Call me a nuthugger but long exp with Sundown products makes this easy. Tune mid 30's on a set of 12's powered by a 2k amp and you'll be rockin' in short order.
Frontstage and midbass response are where most rock hits anyways, I spent 1K on midbass and install before I was happy. Neo mids in severely deadened doors /w/ carefully imaged highs. My eq was in the negative across all bands.
