alt size question

I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD that I have added the big 3 in 1/0 and a stinger spp1500d under the hood. Inside I have a crescendo bc2000 powering a dc xl 12 d2 and a merlon meam50.4 powering my components and coaxials.

While playing music with the bass up the low notes make the voltage drop. Sometimes down to the mid 12s from about 14.18.

What can I do to fix this? Would an alt be the best way to go? If so what size and brand do i need?

Also has anyone messed with the alts on dbelectrical.com?

Yes as stated in the first sentence. And what is the minimum size that I would need. I'm not going to buy the minimum, I just want to know where to start

200 amp min. and i had some bad luck with db electrical,i heard that they changed their parts for better ones now ,but i don't think i'll ever buy from them again . also look at the powermaster adjustable voltage alts .i love mine

I should have worded it better. I meant to say the minimum of what would not let the lights dim. But should I do one alt or get a smaller one and run dual alts with the stock one?

Looking at 80a per 1000w, so 2200w is 176a. You have a 105a or 130a alternator on your truck, not enough for your audio alone. A 200a with an additional AGM battery would be OK, a 270a would be better provided the low-speed charging is up to par. Our 99 Chevy 2500 draws about 35a just idling with nothing on, way more (80a+) when the AC or heat, headlights, wipers and other electrical like brake lights are pulling power.

Yeah I have the 130 now. And if I get a 270 would the stinger batt be ok by itself? Or what about a 250 amp alt. Would it be enough? I may be able to get one cheap from someone I know
