Subs stop playing but amp doesn't go into protection mode PLEASE HELP

I just got a new DS 18 6000w amp and im running 2 15 kicker cvrs off of it and when i turn the power up, even if its not at the power i usually bump at, the subs cut off. The amp doesn't go into protection mode or turn off at all. What could be the issue? Thanks!

Yeah my ground is good and voltage seems to be good. Tested those two out. Subs arent blown or anything they just stop playing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

bad amp,bad wire somewhere , did you check continuity on the ground and did you check voltage at the amp when playing and the subs do this ?

All thats fine I think, but everytime i play my subs my lights flicker bad, like all my interior lights flicker when the bass hits. Could it be my battery?

It could be a lot of things. Without much specific information on your system its hard to give you definitive answers. However, if your lights are dimming BAD as you say, than your 1st and most important thing should be is completing a Big 3 upgrade. After you do that properly, try a better battery or add a 2nd battery in the trunk.

What's the big 3?? And yeah I think I'm running too much power from this ever start battery. I'm thinking of getting a better battery and the one I have now to go in the trunk. Any battery recommendations for an '02 Lexus is300? Thanks

@Molinam123; a quick google search or a forum search for the Big 3. Its adding better wiring for your hot / ground / alt wires under the hood. That should be the 1st thing done on any audio install to ensure clean power throughout the car. After yo upgrade / add the added wiring, than upgrade to a bettery battery thats suited for the amperage that you will be running on your amp.

Is your amp 6000w peak or 6000w RMS? If you are trying to pull even 3000w on stock alt and battery no big three then you have identified your problem.
