sub wont hold long notes?

As far as setting the gains.......you will be able to find how to do that very easily on the forum...just search around. But if you want to know how in detail...PM me. I type too much on my posts anyhow, they say, lol. So, for more detailed info on that, you can PM me if you like. If not, just follow what others will say...it will be just fine, trust me.. They know whats up.

turn bass boost completely off. you might be rolling off at a certain frequency
Boost does nothing but boosts a 40hz signal. At 1/12 he's not changing the output layout by much at all. Gain, signal, voltage and connections (vc/spiders in the sub anyone?) are the only factors at play here.

I set the gain to half and it sounds SOOOOO much better. Thanks to everyone, i knew that gain isnt a volume control. I just though it was a overall output wattage potentiometer honestly.

Lot of groaning reading through the first page, I feel like we finally made some progress though. You should most certainly be lowering your LPF though. And setting your Sub-sonic properly.

And I hope you set your gain properly, rather than just turning it down to half-way. Download a 60hz test tone, and do the 5 seconds of math, and set the gain properly.

Considering this is musical, don't you think a 50hz or even a 40hz tone would do him better for gain setting? After all, that's where 90% of the boosts are set to. Plus, setting the gains at 40hz is going to do a lot better job of keeping him from unloading under 35hz vs setting at 60

To the op. If that sub follows suit with all the other jbl power line, it will sound better with a couple hundred more watts. My P963's are rated at like 110 rms and sounded awful there but really put it out at 200 or so. Couldn't believe the difference.

yea it deff wants more then the 600 im feeding it now. Going to wait till i pick up some 8 gauge to run it 1ohm. Anyone know a good place to download test tones? I usually use piratebay to download but seems like it would be on a site somewhere for free
