Sub Spider rating?

Does any one know what they mean when they rate a spider by a letter. For example when its rated at C.

I'm assuming they mean stiffness and their ability to keep linear with a lot of power.

Yea i would assume the same, but does it mean as the alphabet increases the stiffer they get?

it is stiffness. a C is med stiffness...
