Sub Rumbling & Popping

I just need to know if anyone can assist me with a rumbling then popping noise made by my sub box when i turn my car on or change the stations. I just had the stereo shop upgrade my system and what a mistake that was. I went in for a simple change from 1 10" kicker to a 2-10" kicker setup. What should of took 20 mins to do turned into over 3 hours since they claimed there was an RCA short, then blamed it on the work of whoever installed it (I had to show them the receipt that they did all the work on my truck). I do not want to take it back to them because of such a horrible job that they did (left long wires hanging out an unconcealed. They lefty wires exposed and just made everything seem like it was my fault.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Since when I had just the 1 single 10" it never made any noise at all.

Are you running the same amp?

If so, i it must be in the wireing that those meatheads replaced.

Double check all your conections to make sure that they are all good.

If you have a extra set of RCAs laying around, just run them straight back from your HU to the AMP. This way you can rule out the current RCAs installed.

Firstly thanks for helping, No they replaced a 420 watt amp with a 600 watt amp. Then they replaced that one with another one. They kept saying it weas the Rca's because there was a hum coming from the tweeters at first. They claim they fixed the problem- I think all the did was adjust them down because I can barely hear the highs & mids now. They claimed they had pulled the head unit & replaced the RCA's but who knows. I knew I should of just kept the single 10" and this is what I get for trying to make it louder.

Again thanks for the help, I have checked all the connections but dont know how to get into the head unit area (pioneer deh680 premier I believe) to check those connections.

Thanks

First let me say it sounds like you have really got screwed.

You should have two keys that slide in the side of you head unit between the brace and the hu itself. To access this you need to take the face plate of of the unit and then the beauty ring around that. If you look close on the sides of whats left you will see two slots. Place the keys in these slots till they wont go any further or you might feel them click into place. Pull out on the keys with equal force and your head unit should slide right out.

Edit: It could also be a bad ground check that connection as well.

I got screwed big time - I paid these people over $2k for everything they put in my truck. I was dumb & went to this place based on a recomendation by someone that only had a head unit installed by them. I should of learned after having to take it back 3 times the original installation time. I unfortunately have no idea on the electrical workings of what they did. They installed 2 dash speakers 4x6, 2 door speakers 61/4, 2 tweeters, 2 rear cab speakers 4x10 and 1 10"kicker with 2 amps. took them over 4 hours to do it. While I waited since the guy told me it would take an hour or so. It looked & sounded ok but not loud- the highs were way to high also for my taste. They claim they warranty the work for 1 year. When I went back last weekend they blamed the work of an ex employee on the problem. But I had no noise when I drove in. It all started with the replacement of the amp & adding of the 2 10's. I will try to have it looked at - only to pay someone else for work already paid for.

thanks again.
