how low could i run a sub under RMS. I am trying to build the basic system and then have it set up so that i can upgrade it with minimum cost. I was thinkin about doing a 4 channel amp w/ 2 channels to front and bridged to one sub. For me to get the right RMS to the front how much power could i really get to a sub. Could i get like say a.... 1000 watt sub and run it with say 500 watts or so or would that be too little to power it period? this is deff a noob question im sure. cus if i could do that i would just have to get another amp. how would running less than RMS to a speaker affect it?

some subs do better than others while running off less wattage. But u should be fine, and make sure u set ur gain right. Dont think cuz u have lets watts that u can turn the gain up all the way.
