Featured Can my EV power my 1600w RMS sub's amplifier?

I have a Mini Cooper SE (2022) EV (picture attached), and I want a big subwoofer (RMS 1600w) in my car along with a mono amplifier to power it, but after consulting ChatGPT, I'm worried that my car won't have enough electrical current to power my sub's amplifier.

I haven't found any articles about this topic for EVs specifically, so this problem may not even exist (please tell me if that's the case), but I don't want to end up returning everything if I find out that the 1600w RMS sub's amp can't be reasonably powered in my car.

I haven't bought anything yet, and I'm willing to a professional installation done if that's required for this, but I don't want to spend more money on the installation than my whole subwoofer kit?

Can my EV power the 1600w RMS sub's amplifier? Please list the nuances if there are any.

Have you talked to the dealer? If they don't have someone on staff, they may be able to refer you to the shop or person they use to repair their equipment. Good luck.

I agree with asking the dealer. What you need to find out is, what is the 12v charging amperage. a 1600 watt amp will draw about 160 amps at full volume. so, you might want to make sure your 12v charging system is at least that. I seriously doubt you will ever fully crank your system.
