Sorry for all the questions. I did some measurements on my truck and did the calculations. I've come up with a box that will be 18" in depth, 24.3" in width and 16" high (that comes out to 2.502 cubes). If I can keep it under 16 inches, it won't come up to the window or I can just get a cargo cover so it's not in the open. I plan to get my back windows tinted again to help this. With a 12" sub, that leaves 2" on the top and bottom. Not sure if that is enough or not. I've never built a box before. The recommended size is 2.0 to 2.5 cubes so I think this design will work. The other thing is how to tune it. I know nothing about Hz. How should I have the box tuned? Do you think 2.5 cubes is large enough for one Havoc 12? It actual looked smaller than I thought it would so I could see giving up more space if needed. I think now I just need to get the tuning figured out. I listen to mostly rap and rock but I like the old school hip hop with deep bass. It will be a ported box.
Anyways, my questions are is 2.5 cubes good enough? Is 16" tall enough for a 12" speaker? Can I go smaller and still get the same quality? What Hz should I tune the box to?
