Sub recommendation for my amp

dump the re woofer ,not very good anymore unless an 06 model or older ,also look at ascendant chaos and havoc's,or dc lvl 3 and 4

lean away from the RE unless its a old SX.. If you want great SQ and good output look at Incriminators Flatlyne.

Also remember that how well your subs perform will have a lot to do with the enclosure they are in. That is one place you definitely don't want to skimp on.

Thanks for the advice. I have a local guy that is going to build me a custom box. He's also installing my system. He does the custom work at the Ferrari dealer so I'm assuming he's good. A good friend of mine recommended him. I've seen some of his work and it looks pretty good. Not sure how they perform. I will look into those speakers you guys recommended.

If you want to stay with a small box, then a Pair of Dayton HO 10's would be a good choice.

My vote goes for 2 Skar's or 2 SA's with the amp you have both will sound great.

Yeah at this point I like the Skars or Sundown. I've read very few negative reviews on the VVX and none for the SA which I find incredible. Usually you will find at least one hater but it looks like everyone's on board with Sundown. The Havoc is pretty nice too but I could only get one sub with the amp I have. The Skars and Sundown look pretty similar except the cone. I actually prefer the look of the smooth cone but looks is not the primary concern, I guess. Does the dust cover (I think that's what it's called) change the way the sub performs or sounds?

From most reviews i have heard, the skars and sundowns actually sound quite different. The skars really hit the lows. I have a skar12 and it sounds pretty good and does get low, however i haven't heard the sa's myself, so can't give you a personal point of view of how big the difference is.

Will the amp I have be too much for say one VVX 12 or SA-12? I guess I could always turn the amp down. I was just thinking one 12 would be plenty for what I'm looking for. I have an MTX 12" woofer in a Sledgehammer box with a Kicker Z400.1 pushing it. It's plenty loud for me but it's also in a 2006 Honda Accord which has a lot less cabin space than the Denali. I rode around in it yesterday and it about took my rear view mirror off. I figure with 2.5x the power, it would probably cancel out the extra cabin space I have, plus I'll have a custom box for the sub which should help. Or I can always just go with the Havoc. I'm starting to like that sub. Are there any guys out there that custom build boxes for these subs?

What do you have pushing the Skar 12? Which model sub is it? Just trying to get a gauge of what other people have and what I can do. I'm almost considering selling my amp and going with a Sundown 1200 for a little extra power.

I have it running off a crossfire vr1000d. It puts out 1000@1ohm 12V, so maybe 1200watts before box rise. It is the v.v.x.12 and my box was custom built by skar. I just told them the room I had to work with and the tuning I wanted. Got the sub and box for 199

Really? Do you have the website or is it off the Skar website?

They were doing a deal for a while, not sure if it is still going. Go to the vendor section of this site and ask there. Juat looked and it seems they are still doing a box with 2 12's for 389. If you wanted more or less subs, you would probably have to e-mail them.

Nice. Thx buddy. I'm really getting sold on the Havoc though. That's a nice sub! The ED is pretty sweet too. Anyone have any opinions on a Havoc 12 with an RF P-1000 pushing it? I'm thinking I'm going to go with a sealed enclosure around 1.2 cubes. The recommended is 0.6 to 1.2 so I figure I'm on the high end of that. I believe the ported wants 1.5 to 2.5 cubes. Will it make a big difference if I went with a 2.0 to 2.5 cube box versus the sealed?

Ported will be much louder in most cases.
