Sub Placement

Im am cutting out where i put my sub and i didnt know that u are spose to put the hole as far over from the port as possible. So anyways the peice of wood is 31 inches long. The port is going on the right side of the box. The left part of the sub whole is 4 and 3/4 inches away from the edge. So any ways will this have any effect on the way the box makes the sub sounds?

Never heard of this before? I dont see how it would matter, if anything it seems like it should be better to have the sub close to the port. Where did you get that info?

put the sub/hole where ever looks best in your install.
