Sub placement Question

Building a guy a box for a 12" L7 in a trunk car. Should it be sub up port back or sub back port back or sub side port back?

I'd do sub and port back, but that's just me...

thats what i was thinking but didnt know how side firing worked. Didnt know if anyone had experience with side firing

Sub and port back as close to the back of the car as can be.

^ That's subjective due to port size. You have to figure out where the box preloads and so on. Sub's back/port back with port on driver side seemed to always yield the higher score on the meter(mic passenger side).

Your prob correct but I've always gone after sq so I'm not interested is spl so much. I use sealed boxes 99% aimed back as close as I can to reinforce the bass.
