I have 4 powerbass 15's ported in my jeep grand cherokee. I'm pushing them all with an a3000db power acoustic amp. They are supposedly running at slightly over rms each. These 15's are about two years old and a low model; not as highly rated as the new lowest model s- series. They sound pretty good and get pretty loud but of course I have 4 of em. My question is if I were to buy 4 different 15's like kicker cvr's or something else nicer, would my car get alot louder with all else being equal?

with all things being equal a drop in could be louder or could be quieter, what kind of box ?

Try it and find out, there no real way to give you an answer without you trying it.

If you're not satisfied with it in its current state, then yea maybe you could upgrade, but if you are, why waste the money?

My box is ported. So better subs wouldn't be much louder on the same wattage? Is the main reason to get better subs just the wattage they can take assuming sound quality is already good? Thanks

it would also depend alot on the box, they need sufficient air space to perform at there peak and you cant give 1000 watts to 100 watt speakers. some different factors when doing this, i guess just try it.
