Sub Noise Help

So I reconed my other hdd over the weekend and allowed time for everything to dry and started bumping on them some. Well probably at about 1/2 excursion (for the one I reconed and a little more power for the one I already had) they both start making like this slap/popping noise when the bass note hits like right when it punches but its fine on long notes it's just right when the bass note starts. I had this same problem with one of my ultras. Anyways it sounds like the dust caps as it did on my Ultra so I put 3 layers of duct tape around the caps to make sure it was on and sealed good but that didn't fix the problem so I was going to see if anyone has ran into problems like this

Only thing like that I've encountered and sounds pretty similar is cone hitting against the coil...that's what I think it was. Never did fix it, started happening after years of use though. Just got rid of them. Hopefully there's a solution for you though.

I hope so they are both freshly reconed. I took my port out earlier, put a light inside my box so I could see, turned it up, stuck my head inside the port, and all the parts seemed to be moving/working properly.

I'm not sure how much you can see, but can you see if the cone's slapping against the coil? It would still move fine, but just slaps it lol

Yeah it was hard to get a good view, but from I could see it didn't look to be doing that
