Sub Impendance

I am looking at 2 new 12" subs, but they are 2.8 DVC ohm. What in the hell does that mean? Are they 2 ohm, or 4 ohm subs. I am trying to figure out if I can wire these 2 of these up to get 4 ohms from my amp.

maybe it's 2.8DCR, so that's probably around 4ohm nom.

It would be considered a 4 Ohm nominal driver. So wiring two would not result in what you are after.

My amp will do 800 watts x1 at 4 ohm bridged, or 400 watt x2 at 2 ohms. I could wire the 2 voice coils in series and get 2 ohms per sub, per channel right?

The wiring configs you gave me are for SVC 4 ohms. These are dual 2.8. Please correct me if I am wrong on something here. Still trying to figure out this whole impendance thing. Here is the link to the thread on the one's I got.

Wonderful. So I can run these both together at 4 ohms. I have always used the wiring calculator, but the 2.8 ohms kind of threw me for a look. I have always only seen 2 or 4 ohms. Thanks much for the help.
