The underseat box supposedly works great with only the VD 10s. It states a net volume of ~1.5 cubic feet, whereas the sub's specs claim each needs 1.25 cu. ft. ported. That is iffy mathematics, but they may have tested every combination and this combo was the only one that met standards. On the other hand, that EVL has raving customer reviews. Firsthand experience trumps theoreticals. I have a ported 10 plopped on my truck's backseat that is held by a ratchet strap for safety. It does not look tidy but dabgummit it sounds fantastic.

I have not been impressed with the few Skar boxes I have seen. The subs would in a different box may be better. They seam to fail very easy. Most likely its not enough glue ect

If you like bass then I doubt that you will be happy with shallow mounts. What is your budget? I don't want to recommend something out of your budget.

5-600 for sub and amp. then 150 for the amp to power my door speakers. I was looking at maybe just getting a skar evl 10 or 12 bass package and sticking it in the back seat.
