Sub help

So on black friday I'll be making a sub and amp purchase. They will be going in a14' dodge avenger. I'm thinking in the back seat due to wanting to go with a single 18.

My initial plan was a single soundqubed hdc318 on a q1200. Or an hds315. I know the hdc. Basically I have a bunch of questions.

I'll be adding a battery eventually and doing big 3.

And will be building box myself. (Planned bback seat knowing how much room the soundqubeds require) this will be a daily setup. Have had crap best buy systems in the past and have actually been without a system for a couple years now. So I want to get back into and do it right.

Would I get more "air movement" from the underpowered hdc. Or from the properly powered hds? And which would technically meter higher/sound better?

I also see a lot of mixed reviews on the soundqubeds. Any better subs in the200-300$ range I should look into?

I also see I can get a soar 1500 for about 100 less the the sq. Worth it? Or is it dirty power?

Basically if you had 500$ for a single sub and amp what would you guys choose? Will be on stock alt and big 3 done all 0ga runs with a battery in back.

As much input as possible would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Have also seen alot of love for the sundown sa. If i ran a single sundown sa 15 on the soundqubed 1200 would that be good pair with the sa? How much can they truly handle? I know it says 600rms but I feel like I've seen people put well over 1000 to them?

For $500 I would split it up as $300 on a sub and $200 on the amp, give or take. Do not cheap out on a crappy amp to save money. In the end you might end up spending more. I would ask around to see what people are offering. You might end up with a better sub than you thought. I would look at SSA Icon 15, American Bass XFL 15, Dayton Ultimax 18 (currently out of stock), PSI Platform 2 15, Fi Q 15. There's probably more that I can't think of. I have heard the HDS 12" with a SQ1200 and I was pretty surprised on how much air movement there was for a single sub. Some people like it, and some people don't. It's all subjective. You have to ask yourself what you're really looking for in a sub. When you move to the next tier of sub rms handling, it will require more power to get it moving. So it might be less efficient with power which will most likely end up hurting your output. I've never heard the HDC myself so I can't really comment on that.

Yes, Sundowns are notorious for underrating their rms handling as well as many other companies in the market today. You can run a clean 1000w all day no problem.

Will I loose out on anything putting my box right in my backset? Plan on sub aand port both facing forward. Louder then in trunk?

And I'd like to stay around 1000w. Hoping to snag the soundqubed for a good price on black friday. Should be arable to have it for 200ish $ only thing I'm seeing with subs suggested is they are all about 2-300 watts more then the sq amp. Have seen birth sheets and it'sreally more like 1300. But I don't expect to see nearly that. Expecting maybe 900 with just 1 extra battery and stock alt.

I see a dc lvl 4 is rated at 1400, and is 345, but ssa runs great black friday deals I hear and may be able to snag it under 300? Good option? Too much sub for the amp? Lvl 3 @ 900w more sutiable?

And for the price I still keep falling back to a hds315. Pairs perfect with amp, will be a huge upgrade from the Sony's and pioneers I ran in the past and a good starting point for future builds considering I still gotta do big 3, headunit, upgrade battery and build box.

On the right track?
