Sub firing upward in ported box...

Hi,

I am thinking about a ported box with the sub firing upward while the vent opening is toward the trunk (so a 90 degree offset)... will this work? anyone tried this setup?

In my 4runner I had the subs facing back, and the port facing up, caused a rediculous amount of cancellation. Probably depends on the car.
