Sub Displacement in Box

How do I find out how much air space my sub takes up (8" AA Assassin)? A 12" x 12" with 3/4" MDF would give me .67ft^3 before displacement. I was thinking about doing them inverted, but I want them to be protected and stuff...

Also, how do I figure out port length and stuff like that if I do decide to go ported?
