Sub cutting in and out

so I've been wondering why my sub was cutting in and out today so I checked it out. I was listening to it at like 20, most I put it at is 43, and I heard kinda like a rattling noise. so I took the sub out once I got home and pushed down on the sub in the middle and heard a scratch, as if the voice coil is rubbing on something. anyone know what might've caused this problem or how I could fix it?

the coil unwound and seperated from the voice coil former. Game over.

luis i heard that neo motors just make scratching noises when you push on the cone. Mine does it too.

What is the VC configuration of your sub? I was just wondering how much power you're giving it with that amp. How did you set your gains? Any bass boost, or possibly EQing on the HU?
