Sub cuts out at loud volumes.

I just finished my install for my 15" Mag Friday and it sounds amazing.

Used a tone and it won't distort up to 54/64 on HU.

But when playing 45 and up on Rap it will cut out with the trunk closed. Start to boom, then just stop. Then after ~5 seconds or so it will boom for a split second and stop again. I tried to catch it while it was doing this, but with the trunk open it will play anything no problem without cutting out.

I did open the trunk in time earlier today, and I didn't see the protect light on or any other lights on my amp on besides the power. When playing the tone drawing ~1300 watts, my battery didn't drop below 12.2, so it shouldn't be when playing music right?

Any other ideas why it would cut out only with the trunk closed at loud volumes, but not with it open?

Do the highs and mids cut out too? or is it just the sub?

Only the sub cuts out. Trunk open though it doesn't. I can't figure it out!

check wiring to be sure the vibrations with trunk closed aren't affecting anything...loose connections or such

and what is the amp mounted to?

It is sitting right next to the box ATM. I am debating on where to mount it right now, I don't really want to mount to the box as it vibrates from the sub. I will more than likely be making an amp rack within a couple days...but right now, it is just sitting on the carpet of the trunk. I'll go check connections now.
