sub bottoming out and making weird noise

i'm betting that the kicker is less efficient than the paper cone logitech driver.

i had a logitech speaker set one time, it ran on a chip amplifier.

whenever the chip got hot, things went to hell for the subwoofer.

if the amp is operating with that 4ohm sub, i bet its getting pretty toasty.

lol, kinda overkill on the replacement....yeah its probably a SMT transistor (or a pair of them) running it and its going into thermal failure quickly and probably doesnt have a thermal overload protection circuit on it to manage what your doing to it.

Just put a cheapie 8 ohm sub from parts express in it.
