i have a logitech house sub and replaced it with a kicker comp 10 it bottoms out very easily at low volume and makes noise like there is a hole in it.the logitech sub is 8 ohms and the kicker is 4 ohms
lol, kinda overkill on the replacement....yeah its probably a SMT transistor (or a pair of them) running it and its going into thermal failure quickly and probably doesnt have a thermal overload protection circuit on it to manage what your doing to it.
Just put a cheapie 8 ohm sub from parts express in it.
