Hi im new as you can see //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ive been running my sub off the Fli 450w 2 channel amp, bridged through both channels, its worked great.

Recently i bought 2 6x9s and currently half them both running from one channel, and the sub running through the other, is this a good idea?

And yes i am not running the amp on the low freq mode, because of course the 6x9s wouldnt cope with this kind of low frequency, but i have noticed a significant drop in bass.

Of course i would like a simple solution to make everything sound a bit better and for this setup to be fine, but im thinking its not that simple.

also i have 4 doors speakers running through the head unit, so running the 6x9s through that wouldnt be possible (also they are 70w minimum input).

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It would be a better idea to run the amp in tri-mode. 1 6x9 from each channel and run the amp from bridged channels. You'll likely have to get a passive crossover for the sub.

How would i go about doing this? Sorry if im a pain for explaining things too.

and did you mean 1 6x9 per channel and run the sub from bridged channels?

There is no minimum watts. When you turn the volume to 1, the speakers are running off of a lot less power than if you had the volume at 20. Obviously, turning the volume down does not hurt your speakers. So running them at less watts than they're rated for does not hurt them.

I would say get a cheap mono amp for your sub, and use the 2 channel amp for your 6x9's.

The way you have it now, your sending more than half the power to your sub, and your 6x9's are being run in mono

Your best option would be to get rid of your 6x9's and buy a better pair of front speakers and amplify those. These are the speakers you hear the most.

The 6x9's most likely cancel some of the bass from your subs. think of this as waves moving toward eachother. If waves run into eachother, they cancel eachother out. If two cars are going toward eachother, and crash into eachother, they come to a stop. When your 6x9's play notes that run into your subwoofer, they cancel eachother out.

So get a nice pair of front speakers and amplify them.
