sub/amp/power problem?

Sounds like that worked out ok.

That's the #1 benefit of a big retail store, they're always willing to throw $$$ and free/upgraded product at a problem that they don't understand.

Sounds to me like the amp he bought initially blew that sub, tho. It may have been goin in to protect because of a blown channel, and the more he/the installers kept turning it on, the sub finally got a taste of dc current, if the amplifier's channel is blown, the alternator/charging system/cap will actually see the subwoofer itself as a huge 1/2 ohm draw on the electrical, and **** loads of power through itself.

But again, can't complain when you get bumped up to a better product.
