I enjoy alot of rap, hip-hip, and techno. I want to set my limit at about 500$. I already have the power wire, headunit, and amp kit. My friend also gave me his sony 800w mono amp for free. You could just put some bank on a nice set of 12's. You'll need an amp though and $350-$500 is about where I like my amps price, so that isn't leaving many options on subs. You'll get more enjoyment out of a nice amp on bunk subs than a nice set of subs on a bunk amp..... if it comes down to that decision.

I second that....plus sub-woofers play so little of the musical spectrum I would rather speand the money on a good set of componets up front.

I can get 2 diamond d3's for 200$ and then ill have 300 on an amp. What would be a good amp for them?

Or should I get a cheaper 60$ 12 on ebay, and spend 400 on an amp?

i have 600 w 6x9s they are just unamplified.

We are discussing a particular situation with a particular user. A lot of people like to go back and forth on the internet about hypothetical situations in dreamt up systems, and I'm not one of them because my time can be spent better helping people with real systems and real issues. Given his money limit and ground floor build, 15's are irrelevant in this conversation. If this thread started with "I have $3000 and........" we'd be talking other options, but I still don't like 15's because to control a cone that size takes a HECK of a lot of work that is unnecessary with the other options on the market...... specifically high power 12's.

See, he's drawing you off the point. You don't have the bank to run the level of stuff it takes to keep 15's clean, and even if you did I'd talk you out of it.

On point, 12's and some nice power. Diamond has a good rep so if you want those go for them.
