Sub advice

This is my first thread on a car audio forum, so don't beat me up too bad. Sorry in advance if it's too long.

Anyway, I need some advice on a new system I am putting together for my '01 Chevy Tahoe. I had to buy out my lease on it because I was so far over my allowed miles, so I decided to revamp the entire audio system and do something really nice because I am in my car so much. Based upon what I heard and learned @ CES this year I have purchased the following:

Head Unit: Rockford Fosgate (Denon) RFX8250 Ti

Tweeters: Morel MT-23's

Midrange: Morel Hybrid Ovation 4's

Midbass: Morel Elate 9's

I also purchased the new Morel Accuset MX-22 passive crossovers, but I have since decided to go all active with the folowing:

Tru Technology T4.100 on the tweets & mids;

Tru Technology T2.200 on the 9" Midbass;

Tru Technology H-1 Hammer for my subs; and an

Audiocontrol DQX to control/voice everything.

Having already spent a significant amount of money on what I think is very good (subjective i know) equipment for the frontend and sub amplification, I would really appreciate some advice on which subs to use with this system. Although SQ is mostly what I am after, I must admit that I love to crank it up every now and then with some punishing, bumping bass! I will not be competing, nor do I want my nose to bleed; but I do want great SQ with the ability to feel some really heavy bass every now and then.

Presently I have (2) 12' Alumapro Alchemy subs -- formerly powered by an old Orion HCCA 275. Although I was more than satisfied with the SQ of the Alumapro's with this amp, I really wanted a litttle more hard-hitting bass at times. Which leads me (finally) to the following questions:

--What newer sub(s) would you recommend that would still give me great SQ but with a little more bass?

--Which do you think would accomlish this, yet still blend with my frontstage: (2) 12's or (1) 15?

OR

--Am I so completely caught up with upgrade fever that I can't see that maybe I should just keep the Alumapro's with the new Tru Tech Hammer? All the subs I have been hearing here in Vegas are so "boomy" and sloppy, I am afraid that if I change my subs I will lose that nice tight SQ bass. Is it possible to have both SQ and SPL?!

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. If possible, I strongly encourage you to demo the new Morel speakers. They had one of the best sounding cars @ CES. It was a VW Beetle with a similar frontend setup as mine, powered by an Audison amp. Definitely not a SPL car, but it sounded oh so smooooth! Besides, Kevin Campbell and Bob Morrow have provided some of the best customer service one could ask for--sorry guys for the shameless plug for Morel, but I had to do it.

there will be a lot of people on this forum that will ***** and moan at you to use the search so i would suggest to go ahead and use it. people don't like giving out advice anymore and honestly i'm too lazy to read through your whole post and i know i'm being a dick so i will stop typing now.

i read the whole thing. but most folks hate to read nowadays... uve got one hell of a good system so far congrats. i would suggest u try out ur current subs and if ur still not pleased... well heres the most common recommendation list:

Mangun D2

how about some TREOs?

well thats my 2 cents

http://www.respl.com for one 12'' XXX for pretty **** good sq with a shitload of spl but main built for sq. http://www.stereointegrity.com for one 12'' magnum d2 which is one of the best subs you can along with the XXX, you will be extremely pleased with this sub it's sq is amazing and it is definitely capable of hitting you in the chest. dont be fooled by it's rms of 600, they give it burps of upwards of 2-3 kw. go for one of those two and you will be very pleased.

While I may be new to the site, I'm an old dog in the industry, for an sq system that can have some decent spl if called for, I would give the Eclipse aluminum and titanium subs a serious looking over. They are not a cheap sub by any means but by the looks of the system you are designing you are after the finesse that is offered by the higher end companies. Do not bother looking around the net for Eclipse gear, it is not available on line and if found on line, no warranty is offered by Eclipse on the equipment purchased. Your best source for Eclipse is a specialty retailer or some of the people who build the kind of system you are after every day. I would be glad to recommend some to you. While there is a whole pile of equipment to sort through and every one has their opinions and favorite brands, the educated and informed consumer usually has the upper hand when he / she makes their choice.
