I don't know what the package is or if it even exists but some kid next to my work was telling me that he had 16 stock speakers in his bmw 02 3 series? Not seeing how 16 speakers could fit in some really cramped spaces I'm assuming there are a lot more tweeters in there than woofers.

Yeah the newer bmw's have a shit ton of speakers...so do a lot of vehicles, really. I'm assuming there's a few 2-3" full range speakers as well.

oh, and his Hifonics 2000 watt mono was "3,000 dollars"...

on my Treo, i loaded up ebay and asked him why they went for 200 bucks all day long.

rofl, my silver L7 cost me 100 bucks(slightly used) and hifonics 1606 for 213.....

When I was in high school, I had an XXX 18 and me and my buddy were talking and some guy walks over to tell me his brother had 2 15's AND an 18 in his trunk. Amazingly, his trunk lid blew off.

I've seen "installs" where the power cable was from an extension cord.

There's also some douchenozzle rolling around town with a couple subs in the trunk of his Del Sol. Anybody who has worked on a Del Sol should know why that is stupid.

And of course I deal with the,"why are you using that brand, JL is the best!" comments on a daily basis.

When I was at CCity one of my intallers gave me shit about my system.

Him: What are you doing?

Me: Installing my active stereo

Him: Why are you puting in those giant speakers?

Me: They're 8"s. They'll help me get more midbass up front.

Him: Isn't that what subs are for?

Me: Well subs aren't for midbass, and If I could fit a sub in the front of my car I would. These will have to do. They'll get low enough.

Him: You should just get some Polk's

Me: Believe me, Polk's won't sound nearly as good as these will.

*After all is installed and being tuned*

Him: These things ****. My pioneers are way louder.

Me: I haven't even adjusted the gains yet. I'm still figuring out my crossover points and equalization.

Him: You have an overly complicated system. You should have just gotten a deck and some pioneers like I did.

Me: You spent way too much on your system. Mine still sounds better.

Total cost for my system $1000 Still sounds better than his and is actually louder.

Total cost for his system $2500

i had someone recently talking to me about what ohms there sub was telling me how since there ohms were higher then mine that there equip. was better then mine

then he proceeded to tell me that since his subs put out 1000 watts a piece that they are better then anything else, and i tried to explain to him the subs handle power they dont put it out and he started a huge debate

and he also pronounced ohms. o h m. he said my subs a 8 o h m's

a guy I work with wanted me to install subs and an amp in his Infinity and keep the factory Bose radio and speakers. I told him I'd have to look into what pieces I'd need to get the signal for the sub amp and he laughed. He said his buddy has it done in his car already and all he needed was a little plastic "thing" next to his battery. He tried to tell me that this plastic thing gave his buddy the bass. So I had him get a picture of it and it turned out that he was talking about a fuse, it was on the power cable running to the guys subwoofer amp. When I told him that he laughed and said I didn't really know anything about car audio, cause that plastic "thing" in the picture was a computer that gives bass to radios. LMAO, what a moron.

I made the box in my avatar for my girl. When showing the system an all a few guys told her that she should've put carpet on the box. She asked why an they said cause its makes it louder an improves the sound of the sub.

Also another time i was talking to someone an he said his L7 is so loud that it made the cd player skip from the guy he bought it from.
