Stupidest Thing You Have Ever Heard When Talking With Someone About Car Audio?

I was trying to explain to my friend why he should turn his gain down due to clipping. His response was, " clipping doesn't have anything to do with the amp anyway"

When I first got my job, I started talking to some kid about car audio and he tried to tell me that he had 4 15's and 2 12's in his civic. I asked to see it but i guess it all got stolen a few months earlier... The same kid went out and bought some kind of sony package came with the head unit and some 6.5's and 6x9's and his car had 6.5 holes for all four speakers so he mounted the 6x9's in the 6.5 holes and they stuck out like an inch and a half. haha it even goes on further, he also hooked up some 40watt genaric amp to some home theater sub that came off one of those 5.1 dvd player things for home audio.

My coworkers at various times

Douche 1: I have a Kicker 1500 watt amp

Model of said amp= 150.1 with 8 gauge wiring. I even called out the simpleton on the model number and said what power it was doing, still didn't listen.

Douche 1: JL subs are the loudest. At the time, he had some shit w0's in shit half boxes, basically running shit IB, off the 1500 watt amp.

Douche 2: I just want crystal clear audio. I don't need an amp or equalizers and shit.

this one guy came into the store checking out sony subs. "yea they the bomb" Well do u have an amp already" Yea i got a 4 channel from the pawn shop in daytona" O ok then 2 subs, one to each bridged channel will work cuz it will run at 4 ohms. "No No, i can adjust the ohms on my deck and the amp has all times of these things like little boxes to cut off frequencies. That way i can get a flat response" Really, well you got yourself a winner.

Because if he was to add subs, the tweeters would make the highs easier to hear. Most cars I have been in w/o tweeters, the bass overpowers the highs. That is why I suggested it. He was one of those types who wanted to hear music on a regular listening level, but wanted to crank it up and still have the same effect. That was why I mentioned it.

Every car that has co axils or components have tweeters in them unless you can't hear anything from 2khz and up (putting a number there).

Maybe buying 'louder' speakers would of been a better piece of advice noob.

Nah, I don't like the harsh highs. I prefer silk dome tweeters over the rest. I think I will just add 2 12"s in the trunk, probably a ported enclosure, and replace the JBL speakers with some newer ones.
