im currently trying to build a decent system and was looking at the FI subs and mentioned it to a friend. he said "those look pretty but dont look to be built that good...you need to pick up some audiobahn subs, they win all the competitions and have an 8000k rms sub"

then i mentioned i was going to get a pioneer deck and he came back with "i dont like pioneer decks, they dont let you change any of the equalization settings, its all default"

im new to all this but i spend a lot of time here and that sounds like BS to me...

Its BS, A-bahn sucks (their new stuff anyway) and even the 6-7 year old Pioneer HU that is in my dads truck has an EQ.

i'm not shure about this but i think that the volumes above 194 aren't messured in decibels, it is only a theoretical representation of how loud it would be...
because above that level they aren't really sound at all...

for example: an earthquake, is messured on the rictor scale, but if that wave was a sound wave, then it would be X amount of decibles....

to answer someones question earlier.... after 194dBs your car no longer puts out sound, it puts out earthquakes

One of my friends was visiting his girlfriend and some of her friends have systems in their cars, the first one had 1 ten inch sony xplod and after chatting up my friend for a little while my friend figures out this kid knows nothing about subwoofers, and my friend started bragging about my system to put them down (I don't have anything special... but it was being compared to a sony xplod). He starts talking about how you can feel the bass pass your face when in the car and how it makes my roof flex. In response to this the kid asks what kind of car I drive, my friend tells him it was a ford explorer. He then tells my friend that of course... the reason it's louder in my car is because my car is bigger than his two door ford focus, and that if he were to move his single 10 inch xplod over to my car he would be making the roof flex and then some.

Apparently the more air there is to pressurize, the louder the subs get... when is someone gonna put a single 10 xplod on 250 watts in a school bus... according to this kid that should be super loud...
