Stupidest Thing You Have Ever Heard When Talking With Someone About Car Audio?

I saw this at an audio competition once.. haha. The guy yelled at his son later that day for having windows rolled up because "it's not loud enough unless they're rolled down."

Ugh

Yeah, the multiple sub types is really cheesy....but having the windows rolled down slightly, or even all the way, is louder in many cars than having the windows up. We had a large discussion over at DIYMA about this. It is due to either cancellation, or possibly the car acting like a large enclosure.

I had a Kia Sephia with 2 JL 10w7 and a JL 1000/1 and my neighbor at the time comes over and tells me I just THINK mine is loud. I asked, "why do you say that?" He says to me, "I had a system in my old car that peeled the paint right off it." I said," oh really?" How many watts was you runnin in it?" He says, "800WATTS"

I laughed and said, " then I better be extra careful because I have a little over 1000watts in this car."

Everytime I seen him outside there after, I'd start checking my paint job when he was watching me, and then look over and say, " still not peeling"

He came over after I got rid of that set-up and tried telling me how to wire these house speakers he had to my back deck and they would be much louder and clearer than any car speakers could ever be. I'd had enough, and told him to take his F_c_ a55 home and stay there.

Finally pissed me off enough!

well what type of competition was he in? he might be right

It was Db drag, but at the time he said it they were still setting up equipment and such, so it was just a bunch of people bumming around playing music loudly.

My girlfriends brother, he is always talking maaaaaad shi+. The other day I was telling him about the system Im getting (about 1600 watts rms). And he goes "Well, when will you have it?" And I say "Some time in november, Ill probably be getting a High Output alternator first." Then he says something along the lines of "Oh thats pointless, my friend just hooked up a capacitor directly to his stock alt and he runs his FOUR Solo-x 18's with NO PROBLEM."

I said "**** dude, your friend is God." And walked off.

kid at my school spent 2000$ on audiobahn sh!t. i paid roughly 800$ for my JL setup... said his system kicked the shit outta mine and that he "cracked his windshield atleast 4x a year because of it." i parked next to him and couldnt hear his system over mine.

my cousin was talking about his friends 12" Jl and he said that they were going to port it. So I asked what they where going to have it tuned @. Then he looked at me weird and said that you just cut a hole in the box to port it.

A couple days later I talked to him again and said that the sub had blown. Big surprise.

about 4 years ago i heard a shop owner tell a kid he needed 1 yellow top under the hood and 2 yellow tops in the back to run his kx1200 to his 2 12 l7's...and if he wanted to add another kx1200 he would want to get 2 capacitors...i did the real big eyeball thing and just shook my head...
some guy in november i think, told me he runs 550 or so watts to his boston pro 60's and "they just love it"

some kid told me some time ago that 4awg was better than the bigger wire because it gave the power a tighter flow, less space to dissipate into un-needed space or some crap...
