stregnth vs size?

Some good advice in this thread and also some very misinformed/ inexperienced people. There is only so much you can learn from the internet. It sounds like you need some hands on training. If you can't get help at your gym than try a different one. If you want real size you need to be shown the way. Find a bodybuilder and ask for some advice. Find a powerlifter and ask how to properly squat/bench/deadlift. This will get you wayyyyy farther than you could do on your own. After you have learned some basics and put on a little size look up a Strongman and you'll find out what a REAL workout is. But I have only seen you post about your arms and shoulders so you probably will never get to the level you want. If you want real size you need to work LEGS LEGS LEGS. Squat and deadlift. There has been good advice on diet. Don't waste money on supplements. Protein shakes are ok but nothing beats good old real food. Lots of red meat! As far as cardio, nothing wrong with a reasonable amount. 20min 3 times a week is plenty. But don't do your cardio on the same day as a heavy lifting day. Hope this helps, and please don't give advice if you have very little experience. Former FL strongman winner.
also QFT. if you dont know any local strongmen/powerlifters/bodybuilders then hit up Wannabebig: serious about muscle - bodybuilding and fitness articles and forums. go to the forums there, theres a plethora of info there.

To say most people plateau at the 280-300 lb flat bench mark is giving way too many people too much credit
i am 19 and plateaued at 235.. sooo ive stoped max benching all the time and just doing more reps around 80%..

i always seem to read that doing LEGS/deadlift, or any major muscle group will increase your arm size, or overall muscle size? that seems to keep popping up. and i dont really understand this. working harder inc testosterone levels? more blood flow? what is it; if it is anything

Excellent question. Yes compound movements like squats/deadlifts are proven to promote your natural testosterone levels. Have you ever noticed the arms on the short distance olympic runners?

lulz.... high reps low weight doesnt get u ripped lmao u actually lose muscle doing that because u arent stimulating it.. nice diet with intense lifting does. cardio is meh.
x2 People seem to think doing 20 reps is gonna get you more defined when in truth its your Diet thats it. If you loose the intensity of lifting heavy your muscles shrink hence when you cut it you lift as heavy as you can to keep that intensity and not loose more than fat.

I got your answer. Its actually ot legs that does it, its compound movements like Squats, Dead lift is another one, Snatch too. It boosts your test levels naturally. Most lifters do legs on the start of the week. I guess it has something to do with your body trying to compensate for being over loaded. It took me a long time to get into the 300 club. I was up to 405 twice but not comp clean. It was an up and down without a pause. I am still up around 365 when I do flat bench but I dont do much flat anymore. I an working to get my upper chest bigger. As for you hitting your peak you are 19. You have alot of growing to do naturally. Your gonna keep getting stronger with muscle maturity.

il jus keep lifting heavy with compound stuff
seems to be the most liked option among you guyz
For sure. Dont be scared to mix it up too. Do your heavy compound stuff and add in some smaller muscle group stuff too. The girls like the show muscles too. Once you are happy with the size you put on do more isolated lower weight high rep stuff and harden up and cut like a mofo. A huge part of this is gonna be nutrition too. You gotta eat big to get ig. I am horrible at eating, get too busy and forget or just dont have time.

tryin out that weight gainer shit, like 5000 calories in a cup lol, but i get the feelin my upper is guna be way biggeer than lower soon.. calves dont get big too quick.

then in 3 months dont eat shit and up the cardio x23456

That's a good way to lose muscle mass.
To cut, decrease calories from maintenance, maybe 5-600. Keep protein HIGH, higher than it is now.
Exactly what I'm doing now. Lifting heavy as always. Doing -500 calories from my maintainence cal intake and adding in a little

cardio. I do about 60% protein an split the rest between carbs and fat as far as macros go.
