Nothing Is Promised
Where did you run your wires for the SVTB/R? I ran mine ot my 9853 wiring cuz it was very close to where I wanted the display.

Another question...what does your display read right when you get in your car/truck? Mine reads 13.0V right as I get in at beginning of day. Then drops to low 12's after lik 30-45mins of regular stop and go traffic. I figured it should read 14.1-14.4 but since its to my wiring harness I figured it was just reading ther battery directly...Highest it can read is around 13.3...when cars off it reads 11.7 then drops to 11.1 and sits there forawhile. The battery is only two months old.

Should I be concerned? My pulleys started making a rattling/squeaking noise in the past 3 days..so yeah just wondering.

Edit: I think my alt is about to crap out on me. See down posts.

well for starters most alternators only put out 14.4 volts when the are cold as the heat up voltage drops to anywhere from 12.6 to 13.6 or so depending on the car and many other variables. But that voltage display is hookup off you headunit so it is already going to be showing a lower reading due to voltage loss from not being hooked up to your battery directly.

First thing i would do is get the battery checked right at the terminals using a dmm or a radio shack volt meter or what not, see what it reads when the car is off. If its read a normal 12.6 + or - you bat is good then see what you little digital gauge in you car reads see how much they are different you might be surprised at the results i would also do the same thing for tha alternator as well check it at the terminals when the car is running then checkin you car.

see if this help hopefully your alt is not going bad

battery checked in at 12.5V...The voltage just really seems to drop fast from 13.0 (first drive to school in morning) to around 12.6 then it will continue to drop if I keep driving. It will go up lik .2-.4 if I get on the highway but once I get off the highway drops back.

Say I get home with the meter at 12.2...if I get in lik an hr later its at 12.5ish then if I dont get in til morning then its back at 13.0...oh well wont have this car but ~10more weeks. My '06 Si is on it's way.

My friend (who just finished putting in an RB25DET into his S14 by himself) thinks my Idle Tensioner pulley is making the noise...So if it gets louder then I'll check.

You might need to calibrate the Stinger meter.

Mine was off a little. I borrowed a technician friends Fluke calibrated digital voltohm meter and then used the set screw inside the Stinger to adjust them to the same voltage.

You might try that.

its a screw when u take the top off that u can turn and set wit a dmm wit ya batt upfront so u can kno wha ya gettin or wit the amp in back. read the manual
I know..I tried turning the screw when I got it. And with my car sitting over night it would only read to 13.3ish (hence what I said in first post)

dude like i said in my post earlier you only going to see 14.xx volt when your car is running and the alt is cold after it warms up the volage wll drop a bit.

your batts sitting over night and holding a 13 volt charge by them self no car running thats pretty good

My alternator is factory (95a) and it runs around 14.7 with the engine on. It was around 14.4, but the big 3 made it go up:)
My concern is since a pulley is rattling/squeaking, my voltmeter has shown that the voltage drops from 13.0 (fresh start in morning) and by the time I'm at school it's down to 12.4ish. When I first got the SVMB, it took about 45mins to an hour to drop that far under normal use. Now it drops quickly. And last night it got to 11.9. I know it's not directly to my battery but I'm just concerned about the drops. Should I do the Big 3 before I sell the car? (selling it in about 8 weeks..)

Bump..

ok well got in at school (2:40) Stinger read 12.7V. Just got home ten minutes ago. I was driving for ~15minutes and it dropped to 11.9V. So I tihnk my alt is going to crap out. I need a cheap replacement soon. It is 80A so I'd like more but if not it works. It's just not charging fast like it used to.

Sounds like it is going to go out soon.

Edit:

Well this morning I got in the meter read ~12.8-9. It held its own at 12.7 for about ten minutes then put in Webbie (G-Shit hits pretty hard) and then it dropped to 12.6 then at school was at 12.4 So I will see if it drops fast after school.
