Stinger SPV-35 Battery. Is an alternator charge enough?

I have a Stinger SPV-35 battery as the only battery in my Honda. Once I read the literature it seems to suggest regular charging with a volt regulated charger. I don't have too big of a system running and am curious if just letting the alternator charge it will be enough or will I lose cell capacity.
