Sticky car radio

I have a new car with an interactive radio. The buttons on the radio can be programed for the radio but also can be programed to call a specific cell number or to start GPS to a set destination. Unfortunately, this car is designed with the cup holder just above this $3000 radio. A couple of months ago, I hit a dip in the road which caused a sugary drink to spill down the front of the radio. Since then the buttons stick in when pushed. I've tried spraying them down with alcohol and wiping but this only helps temporarily until the alcohol dries up. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do or where I can take the car to have this fixed? The dealer won't touch it and suggested I buy a new radio! Thanks.

Either take it out and take it apart and clean it yourself or buy a new radio from dealer or probably cheaper on ebay.

I wouldn't know how to take the radio out and clean it. Is there someplace I could take it to do that?

try one of those mini steam cleaners.

That sounds like a good idea if it will clear the stickiness behind the buttons.

doesn't look like it. there really isn't much you can do when you get sticky residue into the mechanics of a head unit w/o disassembling it.
