The 610 would be right there with it. The 3510 would destroy it. Also SQ and DD subs tend to use the same box sizes.
I don't the my W6 idea will work since they only have dual 4s. SQ would go way up but output might drop a bit.

Same box, same power - sensitivity of the driver will probably dictate the output more. Not the point though. He should check his existing setup - crossover points especially.

I don't need to increase loudness. I just want it to sound better. It's a 1.75 cubes tuned at 34hz. Bonus for it to be louder. I'm fine with the output. The lpf is set at 80hz. The speakers I will be running are some older cdt speakers and tweeters.

Try going to 90Hz, see how that sounds. Also, do you have an EQ? You can use that to flatten out the response where there are dips.

Sensitivity don't mean much. It don't tell you how the drive will react once power is applied.

What dictates loudness is the motor force, xmax, quality of the soft parts meaning the better the quality the less moving mass meaning better efficiency. Also having a tighter gap means better control which helps in output and sound quality.

That's how they calculate sensitivity and it does tell you how loud it is once power is applied - it's measured with 1W of power or 2.83W (1V). Beside the point since he said louder is optional. He needs to play with x-over and EQ before considering more equipment.

Bud that's 1 watt. If a woofer has a stiff suspension it won't do as well with 1 watt. I mean POWER applied.

Raising the filter to 90hz is not the best thing to do. That should be front stage. A box tuned at 34 is rolling off way before that.

Not sure what kind of processing he has, but 90Hz at 24 or even 36db/octave could be better than 80Hz at 12. He should definitely mess with the EQ. My box is tuned to 34 and I don't have that problem.

Can you move the enclosure around currently? Before you start dropping more money experiment. Move the box around. Cover part of the port. Adjust internal volume of the box. Unless money is no object then by all means buy another woofer and see if it works in your current setup. Maybe I missed some details. What type of vehicle? Where's the sub? People like throwing out suggestions for new equipment, but you have to realize that your entire car is the acoustic system. The subwoofer is just a part of that system. If you have a halfway decent sub, power, and HU/processing you can make it sound good while maintaining a decent output.

As far as I know DD does not have any inherent engineering tailored to be an "SQ" sub. Do any of their subs have a linear BL? Doesn't stop them from sounding good when well executed (same could be said for more than 50% of subs out there), but they are not an "SQ" sub by any definition.

They are noise makers. For that price you won't get both output and response.

Nothing in there about objective SQ measurements. I can "prefer" the sound of my farts in a toilet....

I won't deny they are great woofers, but to try and sell them as inherent SQL woofers? They are just regular overhung motors with a few cool aspects. I doubt OP has ability to try several different configurations of the 3500 series and figure out what is best for him.

It's not terrible. It doesn't sound like muddy bass, it just doesn't seem very good when different bass note hits. Hard to explain what I mean. Like the transition to different notes isn't good. I'm not looking for ultimate Sq, just looking to see what's better. My grado cans hit and transition faster. Maybe I'm asking for too much?
