SQ questions

I have my Polk MOMO comp set in kicks now, but I don't have any polyfill in them. Would that increase the midbass kick? Also now that I have my final setup should I go with a 8" midbass? What brand of EQ's are good? How do I EQ my setup? Mess with it till it sounds good or what? How could a subsonic filter help out my setup?

I like 8" for Mbass. If you can make a sealed enclosure for the midbass you'll get an amazing "kick" of midbass. As for eq's, I am old school; you can't go wrong with Audio Control eq's. If your not looking to compete then just tune the EQ to your ear's delight, it will take a good deal of time to find that perfect balance for all the different types of music you might listen to. Actually, I don't think one is ever done "tuning" their system for sq. Anyway, good luck.

I added Polyfills to my kicks and I didn't notice an audible difference.

What type of 8's are you looking at for midbass?

And I can't really tell you how to EQ your system....once you get it installed and play around with it you'll understand the effects it has and you can find something that sounds good to your ears.....it won't be a quick process though.

i have my midranges in the kicks too. I was thinking about using pollyfill or something...

I was thinking of RE 8's or I am pretty sure Adire has a 8 out too. Hell the ED 8A would be hella nice but I don't wanna pay 175 for that, um the IDQ 8 also I think. None of these will be in the right "sq" spots though. I am building a center console and are gonna put them on top, then maybe the 8's on each side of it, which will probably decrease the SQ of the setup.

I will try the Audiocontrol EQ, how much are these running nowadays? None of this will be happening anytime soon just wanted to get the feel for it.
