Generally I build my stereos from scratch, but since my girlfriend has an amp just sitting around, I'm going to work the sub around it instead. The amp is a Pioneer GM-X862, and I plan to run it bridged to get 380 watts rms @ 4 ohms. She listens to all kinds of music (including rock), so a boomy, sloppy sub is not going to cut it. I'm looking for a single sub (probably a 12") I think for this amount of power. Obviously this install is going to be somewhat budget, but that doesn't mean I'm only going to spend $50 on a crappy speaker. I'd always much rather spend a little more to get something worthwhile.
Also, please recommend an enclosure if you can. Like I said, SQ first, but I'd rather have the option to play it louder than necessary than not loud enough. She has a huge Saturn trunk to play with, so space shouldn't be an issue (although I don't really want to take ALL her space =).
