Ok I installed some speakers and a deck in my car a few months back, and they worked fine... The rear 6x9's are around 200watts RMS, and the fronts are like 150rms... the deck I have is kinda crappy, it is just a koss mp3/cd deck with 54/4 watts and has a motion flip face, with 2 sets of pre outs, So I took it to futureshop to install the following, Road Thunder Subwoofer 12" http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/roadThunder.cfm

and the amp,

Road Thunder 202 2 channel amp.

http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/roadThunder202.cfm

So they are now hooked up, and whne I turn on the deck I can hear sound pop in the rear 6x9s so there is power goin to them, but when the music starts all the goes is the subwoofer... it pounds but there is no sound coming from my speakers... does anyone know how I can fix this... futureshop is dumb and the ppl are like 16 years old that do not know anything and they will not help me... Thanks

here is the link to the koss deck

how would i go about doing that lol... so is what ur saying is the deck is detecting an amp and it is basically turing off the internal amp itself.... thinking everything is powered by an amp... hmmm.... would it be in the instructions... and does every deck have the option to disable and enable the internal amp

mine did the same thing, cause on durangos when u wire the remote u wire the to a differant wire, and i hand to mess around when the blue wire and the blue with stripe wire, and i finally got my speakers workin, maybe thats whats wrong with yours??

now when u say wire the remote what is it that you are talking about??? lol i noticed in the wiring that there is now a wire connected to a wire called power ant... that wasn;t wired before furutreshop wired the amp and sub... would that have anything to do with it... i will go read the instructions now... thanks... i will be back,...

my car is an 85 tempo, i do not think it does... would i notice it lol.... i just checked my manual and there is nothing about turing on the internal amp or anything... here is a link to the manual http://www.sonigem.com/uploaded_files/manual_archive/MS2015.pdf man this sux lol..... and there is a wire coming from my amp and it is connecting to a blue wire from my deck called the power anttana, is that correct should that be there... is there maybe a problem with that connection... Thanks agian for helping me ppl

If you're hearing a pop from your 6x9's when you turn the head unit on, it might mean one of those speaker wires is shorted out. If the speaker connector has come disconnected and is touching metal, it will cause the deck's internal amp to shut down. Take a close look at the wire connected to the 6x9's; make sure they're still secure and not grounding out against metal.

now what if it is old wires or something somehwere along the line that is touching metal should that matter??? cus upon reviewing the wireing i noticed alot of old wires like yellow and green ones and red ones... they are all cut off and no visible wire is sticking out of them..... and i do not see how the speaker wire could of come loose or nething because it was working when i took it in to futureshop both front and rear... then 2 hours later they told me the speakers wern;t working... they claim they did not touch the speaker wires at all.... they say that there is a problem with the wiring coming from the deck or something but that also doesn;t make sense or I wouldn;t be hearing that poping noise... man this whole thing sux... all i want is music lol

ok now here is a possible solution lol... i still want help solving the problem but this is just a possible in 2 weeks solution lol... a friend of mine is selling a 4 channel pyrimid amp i thnk it is called for 50 bucks... it is a 75wx4 i think... would that solve the problem.. and then just plug that amp into the decks front pre amp output... then the speakers into the 4 channel...

i still want helping getting the speakers to work now though because my friend won;t be selling it for 2 weeks...

Thanks

actually one more question on the amp there is input and output... right now the rca plugs are in the output on the amp and then they go to the rear rca plugs on the deck... but isn;t the deck ouputs so it shoud go into the input on theamp ???
