speaker wire

your stock wires are coming from the headunit. Once you hook up the amp your speakers will be hooked to that. I would use atleast 16ga.

If you plan on amping then you're going to have to leave stock where it is and run new wire. Stock wire runs from the headunit to the speakers. When you amp, you will have to run speaker wire from the amp to the speakers, so it doesn't make any sense to use stock wire.

it depends on

1) the size of the amp you plan to use

2) the size of the stock speaker wire

If the new amp isn't huge, and the stock spkr wire isn't tiny there's no need to upgrade.

If the amp is big (say, 100x2 or larger) or the stock wiring is ~=
