Speaker static at zero volume, help

Title says it. yesterday i put in my sub amp and whatnot, and i redid the ground (my 4ch amp has its own ground and the sub amp has its own ground). ever since, i have been getting slight constant speaker static, and not sure what to do to get rid of it.

oh, grounds are to chassis, drilled and sanded holes with bolted down ring terminals.

im in the same boat as you are. Its like a constant hiss int eh background that is always there. I think mine is just a noisy amp, which sucks, but what can you do.

always be playing something. I've had two different types of speakers two different types of head units and two different types of amps...the only one that didn't give me static at zero was my stock system. Right now I have focal components, RE subs, Orion Amps, and an Eclipse head unit and still get static at zero....like i said just always play something

Lowering gains helps reducing that hiss at 0 volume. Also, installing less sensitive speakers will reduce it even farther.

I heard JL amps have 0 hiss, but I have never had one...
