Speaker Pods are coming along nicely

For those of you who may have been reading my past few threads, I'm working on some speaker pods for my doors. Not sealed, just sort of a flush mounting plate type thing. So far I've gotten the particleboard base built and have started bondoing. The bondo is really messy and it took some time learning to use it. Now i've gotten it fairly smooth but will work some more on it tomorrow. I was wondering if you guys could give me some input on what to cover it with? I have 2 yards of black carpet coming for my back seat delete/amp rack and may just throw it on the speaker pods too. Sound like a bad idea? My door panels (where the pod will be mounted) are made of grey vinyl, though, I plan on switching them for some black door panels soon. I'll probably just paint them temporarily. As soon as I get everything buttoned up and installed, I'll post pics of the entire setup which consists of 15" XXX in a 4.2 cube box. The rear seat will be gone and in it's place a nice amp rack. Then the speakers will be mounted in their new home as well as the tweeters being moved down the a-pillar in my car. I have to say that the cdt ef-61 tweets have FANTASTIC off-axis range. I can hear the highs BETTER than before, without them hurting my ears. Hopefully when I move my amps, the new grounding point will end my static problems....we'll see.
