Speaker Insulation?

I started building my ported box, and my dad being a big audio guy walked by and asked what I was using to insulate it. When I said nothing he asked if your supposed to...Then I had no idea what to say, so do you insulate ported sub boxes with anything? If so what options are there?

Thanks

polyfill in a ported box is beyond retarted....i dont think ur dad knows about audio as much as u think he does....polyfil in a sealed box now that makes mucho sense

What are you four years old? I simply asked a question out of my inexperience to find something out, not to be flamed. My dad is 52 years old idiot, you think he's making tons of sub boxes for his nissan altima? lol, he knows home audio not car audio, but apparently I should have mentioned that so you could properly flame people. Have a nice day...

Hey hey hey nothin wrong with altima's... I got 6 cubes in mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you use polyfill in a ported box you can buy sheet polyfill at Hobby Lobby and staple it to the inside of your enclousure...loose polyfill will blow out your port.....
