Speaker fitment into kick plate area

I have a set of PG RSD 5.25 " comps I am trying to squeeze into my 4 x 6 kick plate area. I made a mount out of 3/4" MDF, and when I place the speaker there, I am VERY limited on space. The magnet wants to stick to the side of the metal in the hole. If the magnet is touching, I assume the sound will be compromised? Now I am torn between installing the speakers in the door, or just looking for some good 4" components.

Any thoughts?

I always wondered about the magnet touching. I heard the magnet on the metal doesn't affect anything. Thats what I found out pretty much.
