installing a switch for subs

For some reason even when I turn the subs all the way down and even OFF pn the HU they still are on. It isn't loud or anything buy they are still going. I was told a switch on the remote wire to the amp would solve this problem. Would this work? Also, where would be the easiest place to install this switch?

I have done a couple systems for friends and they wanted the option of turning subs on/off. I just got a toggle switch, installed it in the dash/center console, and ran the remote turn on wire for the sub amp through it. Easy as pie.

I might actualy do that for mine. I listen to alot of different music, and some just can't have bass (like country).

The switch gets wired into the remote wire, and then just ground it to any where right?

you dont ground it unless the switch has a led in it. just hook one side of the turn on wire to one side of the switch and the other side of the turn on wire coming from amp on the other tong on the switch.
