Speaker Distortion

I replaced the stock speakers in my car with infinity reference 5x7's. (all four) These are rated at 60 watt RMS. I am running the speakers directly off of my CDA-7894 hu and I am experiencing distortion at higher sound levels. What is the best way to reduce this distortion: bass blockers? external amp? stick the reccomended 12 awg power wire from my battery to the hu?

Or any other suggestions?

Thanks

Try turning the bass boost off or lowering the bass level on the h/u. More than likely the h/u's internal amp is sending the speakers a distorted signal due to having the bass level set too high. Try turning it down. If that doesnt halp then it looks like your trying to ask too much out of your h/u's internal amp.
