speaker bass

its not that strange of an expectation to have i dont think...i don't know, i guess they should market them "sucks w/out subs." doesn't sound right to me...

this is possible, after reading the specs on the cheap-o amp given to me for free its 40rmsx4 @ 4ohms and the polks are 6-60rms at 4 ohms and the jbls are 60 rms @ 2ohms...my question is, how much of an issue is it to match up a 4ohm to a 6 ohm and clearly i can afford a little more power to them but they arent too underpowered.

ok gotcha, yea so i got a lesson from a coworkerish guy who i was doin' some travelin with and he shooled me on how all that works, tomorrow im gonna rip out the interior and run some new speaker wire and play with settings, ill let you know...

see the problem is on that boss amp, im pretty sure there are only gain knobs for the front and rear which completely limits my ability to get a good sq like i want, i know i need to get something better but im gonna try and get what i can with what i have,, i will let you know what i find and then more questions!

ps thanks for the help guys

Deaden, deaden and then deaden some more. Also play with the phase. They might be out of relative phase with one another in the midbass frequencies causing some cancellation.
x2. all your punch and bass is being vibrated out through the door. the more SOLID your speaker is mounted, the more bass output you can achieve

still doin' the rewire and crap, i still have the factory wires going to the doors cause i didn't want to mess w the grommet to run the wire, plus cause i ran all my stuff on the same side ive got nasty alternator noise in my speakers...

i hate that the answer to my question probably includes spending money on dynamat-esque stuff...that crap is so over priced, i hate it....

ps, azbass, that sub enclosure thing you have your speakers stickin' out of...does it sound good? is it fiberglass? are there dividers in there to separate the subs or is it shared airspace....it looks bad a, almost too good to be true...

oh! now i have a eclipse HU and going through all the features i have yet to see a real phase inverter or anything and the crappy amp im using is so featureless that i can't do that, can it be a simple matter of making sure all negatives are lined up and all positives are lined up or is there a digital problem in the hardware somewhere with all those signals?
