speaker bass

i have 2 polk audio 6.5's in front doors and 2 jbl 6.5's in rear deck in a honda prelude, they are running off a boss 50x4 amp and an eclipse hu. i know these speakers must be capable of a deeper bass than im gettin' out of them, i notice that many new cars factory systems carry a deep bass. my question is how i can get my after market speakers, which i paid enough for that they should sound at least a little punchier than they are, to sound better, are there acoustical tricks to getting more out of the them? some kind of polyfill or something?

okay the baffles act as a "box" for them to resonate the sound? correct?

my worry is, unless you have seen a prelude trunk, the rear deck speakers are barely above the trunk tension bars, and the door speakers are near the window, if you have used these do they take up a lot of space? or just kind of slide on the magnet?

they don't give you that much more bass response. Probably not as much as your looking for. Most of the speakers that are after market lack in the midbass range because they figured they will be teamed up w/ a sub. I've installed these baffles on my Focals on due to the fact that they were getting wet and didn't hear much of a change in regards to bass.

yea but they are already too large for the holes in the sense that i had to use a spacer to keep from hitting the window track, and the rears are also larger than factory so theres now way to do a box....i do have subs also, but there has to be a way to get that output from them...thanks for thetip on the bafles, maybe ill lay off buyin em...

How much bass you expect from coaxials? About the best you can do for the doors is deaden an seal any holes in them the best you can. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Why would you turn your sub off? Aftermarket speakers aren't meant for the same things factory systems are for. Usually the components are for mids and highs and you get a sub for the lows... I don't understand why this question is asked so much =/
