Soundqubed vs sundown

Post this on a website where more than a few people know how to make a really good home audio system. Join DIYAudio forums and they will pick you apart for ever posting something like this. Most of them will either tell you to go with highly efficient drivers or ones with low distortion that can dig low. I would highly suggest looking into making a tapped horn for what ever woofers you go with. Please though get real and understand that neither of those woofers will make a realistic home audio setup.
That right there is a great opinion thank you very much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I will honestly will do that. I appreciate you opinion, and I will surely will go and do that.

I have an 8" on 100 watts and it shakes the room. A 15" or 18" on 500 should shake a house. That amount of cone area and power should be unbearable. What about vocals and mids? You're gonna need several thousands watts to that too.

A guy on my floor got noise complaints from people on the 5th floor in the dorm building. We're on the 2nd floor. He has a single 8 on 50W. These buildings are solid, too.

Cerwin vega as mids and highs and it's all gonna go on a yamaha rx-a830 receiver. And than I'm gonna from sub out rca to xlr to a behringer crossover than to the pa amplifier. And the mids and high are gonna be wired to the receiver. Cerwin Vegas get loud, and all the volume will be controlled by the yamaha. So again I'm not gonna be playing at full tilt, so the subs won't be getting full rms, and I won't be playing for hours, more like half hour of subs and hours with just mids and high.

None of this will ever happen....
Oh but it will //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I ran 2 older cerwin vega v-max 12'z ported @ 32hz firing against a solid sheet of oak bolted to the wall of my game room running on an orion D2400 hooked up to 4 generic / off brand deep cycle batts, ran off of the sub rca out on my pioneer home receiver running infinity towers, center, rear and surrounds and anything over a quarter volume and anything on the walls would be no longer and the cops would get called without fail every time I demo'd it for anyone = THIS was / is NOTHING compared to what you are talking about in this thread and that was overkill for HT audio - This is just craziness //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

This is seriously like trying to put 100kW in a vehicle and OP is looking at it as a walk in the park.

Okay okay I get it blah blah over kill this over kill that, I won't do anything over 3k than. This got futher than what it needed to be. I just asked for help not to be made fun of. Like seriously guys, grow up. Quit carrying it on. I'm still learning, I don't know to much about how car audio and home audio mix. So sorry for saying something "ignorant" but get over it. I'm just gonna stick with sundown. Thanks for everyone that had good input. And did you guys ever consider I could be living out of the middle of no where, like in the woods or desert where everyone is far away? Did you guys take that into consideration?

Blame will not be put on us for this thread. The beginning was a complete "don't do this" response with reasoning and you blew us off like we were a buzz kill. You kept on pushing it like you were waiting for someone to tell you it was a good idea but it never came for good reason. If you don't believe us then do a cheap trial and buy a $20 sub put 100 rms on it in a box and play it in your house. It will be much louder than you are thinking. So multiply that by say 5 times and there you have a good home audio substage. For good home theater maybe double it. Sorry to bust your sundown bubble but I just do not see them being good in a home whatsoever. They are not designed for home theater applications with their high power handling etc.
